The OUFC program is for young players who aspire to achieve excellence in the game. Our emphasis is player-centric, with development being our top priority. We focus on the technical, tactical, physical, and psychological development of our players within a pathway designed to maximize potentials.
The “Dutch - Total Voetbal” tradition that has been established over the past 50 years is based on each player improving significantly in all aspects of the game. All players will be treated as equals, and will be comfortable playing in multiple positions, possess a strong desire to win the game, and play within our style and buy in to our philosophy. All players will conduct themselves professionally at all times in accordance with the OUFC player code of conduct.
The OUFC coaching staff consists of coaches who will positively influence our players’ lives. They will inspire and motivate players in an atmosphere of respect, honesty, and encouragement, rather than one built on fear and intimidation. Players are students of the game and will be encouraged to think for themselves. Success is achieved through building proper habits and developing a high level of accountability. The standards at OUFC emphasize good habits and high levels of accountability, encouraging players to be active participants in their own development.
Our Development Academy is for players age 8-10. The DA program is where we really push to see players further develop their ability to complete goal-oriented actions with the ball. This comes with an improved ability to control both their body and the ball. Players will begin to be more purposeful in their movement and play. Although there is a large emphasis placed on individual development, opportunities to teach how to work together as a group are not overlooked. We really believe that what you train is what you get. Although winning is not the highest priority, it is still a priority. Competition and a winning mentality are developed. The DA program is an 11-month program. Teams will train twice a week and play games on most weekends (subject to league scheduling). OUFC teams will generally compete in 2-3 additional tournaments throughout the year.
