Junior Academy (U11-14)

The OUFC Program

The OUFC program is for young players who aspire to achieve excellence in the game. Our emphasis is player-centric, with development being our top priority. We focus on the technical, tactical, physical, and psychological development of our players within a pathway designed to maximize potentials.

The “Dutch - Total Voetbal” tradition that has been established over the past 50 years is based on each player improving significantly in all aspects of the game. All players will be treated as equals, and will be comfortable playing in multiple positions, possess a strong desire to win the game, and play within our style and buy in to our philosophy. All players will conduct themselves professionally at all times in accordance with the OUFC player code of conduct.

The OUFC coaching staff consists of coaches who will positively influence our players’ lives. They will inspire and motivate players in an atmosphere of respect, honesty, and encouragement, rather than one built on fear and intimidation. Players are students of the game and will be encouraged to think for themselves. Success is achieved through building proper habits and developing a high level of accountability. The standards at OUFC emphasize good habits and high levels of accountability, encouraging players to be active participants in their own development.

JA Details

Our Junior Academy is for players age 11-14.The JA program builds off of everything that has been developed in the DA program. Players have a strong ability to control the ball, and as they are beginning to grow a bit more they get more comfortable controlling their body as well. This now allows introduction of physical nuances of the game thanks to the comfort on and off the ball. Players will begin to be more even more purposeful in their movement and play, on and off the ball. Although there is a large continued emphasis placed on individual development, opportunities to teach how to work together as a group are not overlooked. With increased age, comes an increased demand for teamwork. We really believe that what you train is what you get. Although winning is not the highest priority, it is still a priority. Competition and a winning mentality are developed. The JA program is an 11-month program. Teams will train twice a week and play games on most weekends (subject to league scheduling). OUFC teams will generally compete in 2-3 additional tournaments throughout the year.
